Back from Spring Break, and I ate practically everything in sight the last week and a half. I got one ride in, in the hills of Northern Georgia on Thursday, and then headed back to Nashville on Friday and got a quick ride in late that afternoon. And then I headed out for a cold 34 miles today. I thought spring was here???
So it's time to turn the dial up a little bit. Today is 3/23/14 and the first day of the Natchez trip as been moved a little bit to better fit into my and more importantly, my wife's, schedule, as she is the sag wagon. We are now heading out on Saturday, June 7th. I am going to ride the first day, Friday 6/6, from the house and she is going to pick me up at the end of the day, a 64 mile day. We will head back home and spend the night at our house, so as to not spend money on a hotel / B&B that night. The next day we will drive to the end of the prior day and I will begin riding again. This driving back to the previous day's ending spot will be repeated each day, as most of the B&B's are several miles from the Trace.
So a quick check in on my mileage. I have now ridden 569.32 miles so far in 2014. I am feeling pretty good about my mileage so far, but need to start to string together several rides of multiple days in a row. It should be a lot easier to do so with the time change and the supposed arrival of spring. It will be a lot nicer riding in 70 degree weather.
